Marble Cake

I love cakes, whether it is the vanilla or chocolate.  So, I thought why not mix the two and create a marble cake.  It’s very easy and doesn't take more than an hour in preparation.  Here goes the recipe…

Ingredients
1 cup self raising flour (serves 3-4 people)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup melted butter/oil
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 eggs ( for those who don’t eat eggs you can add - 2 teaspoons Eno ( Alternative for egg.  If you don’t have Eno you can put 2 teaspoons of flax seed powder mixed in two tablespoons of warm water)
2 tablespoon cocoa powder
50gms dark chocolate (with 70 percent cocoa) (chop and melt it in a pan on very low flame)
pinch of salt (for balancing flavour)
2 tablespoon milk (to make the batter more smooth if required)

Cooking Method for the Cake
1In a mixing bowl, add the melted butter/oil and mix it with the 1 cup of sugar. Blend it nicely for 2-3 minutes.
2. Now add the Baking powder, vanilla essence, salt and eggs. Mix the batter well for another 2-3 minutes using a blender.
3. Add the plain flour and again mix the batter nicely. Add milk to the batter if required. You will see bubbles getting formed which means the batter is ready to be baked.
4. Divide the batter into two equal portions.
5. Take a Cake Baking tray/pan and grease it with oil/butter. Sprinkle some plain flour all over it.
6. Add the first portion of the batter to the tray pouring in different places. (Refer the picture below).

7. To the second portion of the batter add the cocoa powder and melted dark chocolate and blend again nicely.
8. Now pour this remaining batter into the empty spaces of the tray. Repeat steps 6 and 8 until you form streaks of vanilla and chocolate.

9. Now place the baking tray in the preheated oven for 30minutes at 160 degrees Celsius. After 30 minutes, check if the cake is ready by inserting a knife into it. If the knife comes out clean then the cake is ready.
10. Let the cake cool for another 15 minutes.
11. Place the Baking tray upside down in a plate to remove the cake nicely.
13. Your Yummy Marble Cake is now ready to be served.
