Shahi Kadai Paneer


A royal vegetarian dish made from Paneer(Paneer is a fresh cheese common in South Asian cuisine. It is an unaged, acid-set, non-melting farmer cheese made by curdling heated milk with lemon juice or other food acid)...
Health Check – Rich in Calcium, Carbohydrates, Fats, Proteins and Minerals

Ingredients
500 gms Paneer (Easily available in all Indian grocery stores)
One Onion chopped into big pieces
3 tomatoes
1 chopped Capsicum/Bell Pepper
Chopped Ginger and Garlic
1-2 finely chopped green chillies
2-3 tablespoon of whipped cream
2 tablespoon Oil/Butter
Fenugreek Leaves (Kasturi Methi)
7-8 Cumin seeds
½ teaspoon Coriander Powder
½ teaspoon Garam Masala
Pinch of Red Chilly powder
Pinch of Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste


Cooking Method

1.Prepare a fine gravy from tomatoes, chopped ginger and garlic in a mixer/grinder.
2.In a deep pan (Kadai) add 2 tablespoon of oil/Butter.
3.Once the oil gets warm add the cumin seeds.
4.Once the cumin seeds start popping up add the chopped onion.
5.Fry the onions for 2-3 minutes.
6.Add chopped capsicum to the fried onions and fry for another 2 minutes.
7.Add the tomato gravy and cook for another 3 minutes.
8.Add the chopped green chillies.
9.Add some fenugreek leaves to the gravy mixture in the pan.
10.Add salt according to taste.
11.Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and garam masala to the gravy mixture and let it cook for another 7-8 minutes.
12.Once the gravy looks cooked, add the whipped cream and let it cook for another 1 minute.
13.Finally add the chopped paneer/cottage cheese to the mixture.
14.Keep the stove on low flame and let the dish cook for another 7-8 minutes.
15.Your Shahi Kadai Paneer is now ready to be served with hot chapattis/Naan.

Wow! Has it ever occurred to you that you could open up a restaurant in London? "Curry" didn't become the Brits' national dish for nothing! And, Sir Noon didn't get his knighthood for nothing -- they love Indian food. Before you know it, you'll be a millionaire!

As for me, the only thing I can cook is Maggi noodles -- that too, the damn thing takes me over 10 minutes instead of two! So I'll be a regular here. Cheers!
