Baked French Toast

A great breakfast recipe which most of us would love to have any day… Here I have given a little twist with adding some mozzarella cheese, onion and capsicum stuffing and then baking it, in the oven, instead of the usual frying…

Ingredients (serves 2-3)
8-9 slices of bread
5 eggs
3 cups of milk
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped capsicum
1 green chilli
Grated Mozzarella cheese
Oil/Butter to grease

Cooking Method
1. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
2. Take a mixing bowl and mix eggs, milk, salt and black pepper and blend nicely.
3. Grease your baking tray with oil/butter. Take 4-5 slices of bread and place in the tray. Make sure they cover the base of the pan.
4. Spread chopped onion, capsicum, green chillies and mozzarella cheese over the bread. Now pour half of the egg mixture all over the bread and stuffing.
5. Place rest of the bread slices over it to cover the baking tray.
6. Finally pour the other half of the egg mixture all over the bread.
7. Place the baking tray in the oven and let it bake for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
8. Remove the tray from the oven.
9. Cut the Baked French toast into equal triangular shapes and serve hot.
